The Elegy of the Fading Sun
From ‘That Which Binds Us’
Far away, a life is fading
As their love gives out.
Teardrops fall and they float through the sunlight.
Dying, they dry on the floor.
Drying, they’ll die evermore…
Do ‘we’ die or are we dreaming
When we say goodbye?
Soon, we will blur, only echoes in darkness.
Falling, we fade from the mind.
Fading, we’ll fall intertwined…
Does the fire that fuels the daylight
Far behind your eyes
Dim, so that light may be borne by another?
Setting, to burn, ne’er to raise.
Burning, to set us ablaze…
Far away, a life has faded
As their love gave out.
Teardrops fall and they float through the sunlight.
Dying, they dry on the floor.
Drying, they’ll die nevermore…
